MCNA adopts Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) that are based on the best available evidence by national dental groups such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the American Dental Association (ADA). MCNA's Texas Medicaid and CHIP member handbooks have been updated and are now available. You can always download the most current versions of our member handbooks from our website and Member Portal. Get your copy today!

Members affected by the recent Texas flooding can get extra time to request an appeal and to ask to continue their benefits during an appeal. This applies to appeals filed from July 2 through September 29, 2025. Changes to the time frames are listed below:

• Appeal: Members can get up to 90 days to ask for an appeal. The regular time frame is 60 days. 

• Continuation of Benefits: Members have 30 days to ask to continue their benefits during an appeal. The regular time frame is 10 days.

These time frames begin once a member receives a denial letter. An appeal and continuation of benefits request must state that the need for the extra time is a result of the 2025 Texas flooding.
